Baseball Recap: North Central Takes a Loss

North Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 9-6 to the Deer Park Stags. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Stags this season, with their most recent loss being a 20-5 defeat back in March.

Giancarlo Lentes stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Beckham Ferguson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

North Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Deer Park, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-7.

Coming up, North Central is taking a road trip to square off against Clarkston at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolfpack's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bantams have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Deer Park, they will be playing at home against East Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
