Basketball Recap: Evansville Christian Eagles vs. Wood Memorial Trojans
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Evansville Christian Eagles can now relate to. They took a 45-31 bruising from the Trojans on Saturday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Evansville Christian in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now lost five in a row.
Evansville Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addie Grubb, who scored ten points. Hannah Higgs was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Evansville Christian's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Wood Memorial, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-10.
Evansville Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wood Memorial and the Cougars will face off at 1:00 p.m. on February 10th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Trinity Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
