Soccer Recap: Gloucester Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Gloucester won the last time they faced Bethel and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Dukes put the hurt on the Bruins with a sharp 7-0 victory. Given Gloucester's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while Bethel are ranked 203rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gloucester's offense was hitting Bethel from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Alessio Gone led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Gloucester pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 48 goals over those eight matchups. As for Bethel, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9-1.
