Basketball Recap: Mountain View Falls Despite Big Games from Aiden Lavoie and Cooper Konetschni

Mountain View lost against Gar-Field back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mountain View Wildcats came up short against the Gar-Field Red Wolves, falling 71-49. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.

Mountain View's loss came despite strong showings from Cooper Konetschni and Aiden Lavoie. Konetschni went 8 for 16 on his way to 24 points and five rebounds, while Lavoie almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.

Gar-Field found their leader in sophomore Jonathan Jason Bell, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 23 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Troy Hamlin, who posted ten points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mountain View fell to 2-1. As for Gar-Field, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Mountain View didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 65-60 victory against Unity Reed on the 7th. As for Gar-Field, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-44 win against Chantilly on the 7th.
