Basketball Recap: Jayden Mangahas' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Desert Ridge over Queen Creek

Desert Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 71-66 heartbreaker at the hands of the Queen Creek Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 76-60 back in January.

Desert Ridge lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jayden Mangahas, who went 6-for-12 en route to 17 points and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.2% field goal percentage. Tyler Nine was another key player, going 6-for-10 to rack up 18 points.

Desert Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Queen Creek, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

As of now, neither Desert Ridge nor Queen Creek have any future games scheduled.
