Football Game Preview: Murphysboro Red Devils vs. Carterville Lions + How To Watch

The Murphysboro Red Devils will face off against the Carterville Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Murphysboro strolled past Harrisburg with points to spare, taking the game 40-21. The victory continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carterville). They claimed a resounding 50-7 win over Massac County. With the Lions ahead 42-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Murphysboro better keep an eye on Jonathan Miller. He was instrumental in Carterville's win, rushing for 142 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries. Miller is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 118 every time he's taken the field this season.

Carterville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 301 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 165 rushing yards in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.
