Volleyball Game Preview: Mount View Golden Knights vs. Summers County Bobcats

The Mount View Golden Knights will face off against the Summers County Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mount View will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Mount View had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Montcalm last Monday. The Golden Knights put the hurt on the Generals with a sharp 3-0 victory.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-19, 25-15.

Peyton Fowler and Hayleigh Green were among the main playmakers for Mount View as the former had nine digs and five aces and the latter had 25 assists and three aces. Those five aces gave Fowler a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Mount View was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 25 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Summers County didn't have quite enough to beat Westside on Monday and fell 3-2.

Summers County wouldn't go down easily and took Westside into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 23-25, 21-25, 16-14.

Summers County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18-4. As for Mount View, their win bumped their record up to 20-1.

Mount View skirted past Summers County 3-2 in their previous matchup back in September. Will the Golden Knights repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
