Softball Recap: Firth Has No Trouble Against Soda Springs

It was a proper cat-fight when Firth challenged Soda Springs on Friday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Cardinals with a sharp 17-9 victory. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Cardinals on Friday, they had to take a 7-3 loss.

Firth let Mckenna Erickson and Meg Leslie run wild. Erickson went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Leslie went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Erickson has posted since back in May of 2024. Linlee Telford also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Firth always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Firth's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Soda Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Firth wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 21-2 loss against Wendell on the 7th. As for Soda Springs, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Declo on the 10th.
