Baseball Game Preview: Elkhorn Antlers vs. Standing Bear Grizzlies

The Elkhorn Antlers will face off against the Standing Bear Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Elkhorn is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Elkhorn is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since March 28th on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Gross Catholic, sneaking past 7-5.

Elkhorn got a great performance from Daniel Narber as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Narber has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Caiden Severson, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Elliot Beister was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Elkhorn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Meanwhile, Standing Bear owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Bellevue East. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Grizzlies.
