Basketball Recap: Western Harnett Takes a Loss

Western Harnett played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 67-34 defeat at the hands of the Overhills Jaguars. The Eagles were down 49-27 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

It was another big night for Najiha Allen, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds for Overhills. Those 13 rebounds gave Allen a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Paris Autry, who went 9 of 14 on her way to 21 points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Western Harnett and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Overhills, they moved to 5-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Western Harnett didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-29 win against Lee County on the 13th. As for Overhills, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Overhills Jaguars challenge the North Pitt Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on December 20th. Overhills is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season.
