Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Gibson Overweg stepped things up a notch to give Springport the 'W'. Overweg rushed for 20 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also threw for 97 yards and one TD while completing 71.4% of his passes. The effort marked the most passing yards he has had since back in September of 2024.

Overweg and Springport are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Decatur at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will enter the matchup having just beaten Bronson, so the Spartans will have to guard against a team looking to keep the ball rolling.
