Softball Recap: Booker Tornadoes vs. Sarasota Sailors
Monday just wasn't the day for Booker's offense. They fell victim to a rough 31-0 defeat at the hands of the Sarasota Sailors on Monday. Booker has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
For Sarasota's part, Kaydence Strauser looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk).
At the plate, Sommer Speers was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs, five RBI, and a triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Calore, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Booker's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Sarasota, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Booker will take on Southeast at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sarasota, their homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Manatee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manatee is coming into the contest with four straight victories on the road, so Sarasota will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
