The Overton Mustangs sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Harleton Wildcats on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on six straight.

Kelsey Vaught was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryleigh Nelson, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kasha Williams, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Overton's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Harleton, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-12.
