Basketball Recap: Bishop Kelly's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Bishop Kelly waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vallivue Falcons, sneaking past 55-53. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 59-52 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Vallivue lost, don't look at Xander Wilson. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last three games he's played. Koby Perez was another key player, going 5-for-6 on his way to 11 points.

Bishop Kelly's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Vallivue, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Looking ahead, Bishop Kelly will face off against Emmett at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bishop Kelly knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Emmett likes a good challenge. As for Vallivue, they will challenge Columbia at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Columbia is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season.
