Basketball Game Preview: Newark Catholic Green Wave vs. Heath Bulldogs

Newark Catholic is 0-10 against Heath since February of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Newark Catholic Green Wave will host the Heath Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Dylan Daube and Jordan Kaminsky.

On Wednesday, Newark Catholic lost to Licking Valley at home by a 75-61 margin. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 647th, while the Panthers are ranked 191st).

Meanwhile, Heath had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 47-37 victory over the Warriors.

Newark Catholic better keep an eye on Kaminsky. He was instrumental in Heath's win, going 9 for 11 en route to 21 points. Jaxon Duston was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five assists and four steals.

Heath pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points per game. As for Newark Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-13.
