Softball Game Preview: Saginaw Rough Riders vs. Azle Hornets

Saginaw is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Azle a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Saginaw Rough Riders will be playing at home against the Azle Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, Saginaw came up short against Granbury and fell 4-1.

Meanwhile, Azle didn't have quite enough to beat Fossil Ridge on Tuesday and fell 4-3.

Corynne Barone spent all 14 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on 16 hits and racked up 15 Ks.

On the hitting side, Bella Tipton made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-7.

Saginaw's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Azle, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11-2.
