Softball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

If Washington was riding high fresh off their 7-1 takedown of South Winneshiek on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Demons fell just short of the Dike-New Hartford Wolverines by a score of 5-3 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Demons have suffered since July 22, 2025.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Dike-New Hartford, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Washington will square off against Keokuk at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dike-New Hartford, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 9-8 loss against Center Point-Urbana on the 13th.
