Softball Game Preview: Ferris Saxons vs. Gonzaga Prep Bullpups

Ferris is on a three-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Gonzaga Prep a nine-game streak of away losses also dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Ferris Saxons will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Gonzaga Prep Bullpups at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Monday, Ferris came up short against Cheney and fell 10-6.

Cadence Hyndman was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Donyelle Strauss, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Gonzaga Prep lost 13-2 to Mead on Tuesday.

Reese Jones-Ross made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Ferris' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Gonzaga Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Ferris skirted past Gonzaga Prep 16-15 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Saxons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bullpups turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
