Baseball Recap: Chatham Charter Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Chatham Charter was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They came up short against the Providence Grove Patriots, falling 9-1.

Chatham Charter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Rives, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Chatham Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Providence Grove, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Chatham Charter will challenge Triangle Math & Science at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Triangle Math & Science has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.57 runs per game on average), something Chatham Charter will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Providence Grove, they will square off against Uwharrie Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Uwharrie Charter Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Providence Grove's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
