League recap: Wilson overpowering for Umatilla in past week

3A Eastern Oregon's top pitcher this week was Umatilla's Kile Wilson. He picked up zero wins and eight strikeouts.

Grant Union made the biggest jump in the national rankings, moving from 8631 to 8544 thanks to a 2-2 record over the past week. The Prospectors are currently No. 107 in the Oregon state rankings, with an overall record of 10-9.

The Vikings' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 14 hits and 18 walks to lead the league in both categories. Umatilla has given up a mere 140 hits on the year, while striking out 116 opposing hitters. Wilson is the leader in that category with 37 Ks on the season.
