Baseball Game Preview: Monarch Knights vs. Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes

Monarch and Pompano Beach are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2017, but likely not for long. The Monarch Knights will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes at 3:30 p.m. Monarch has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Monarch lost 14-2 to Pine Crest on Monday. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Monarch saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Mercado, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles. The dominant performance gave Mercado a new career-high in doubles.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, Pompano Beach was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They fell 5-1 to South Plantation. The match marked the Golden Tornadoes' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Monarch's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Pompano Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Everything went Monarch's way against Pompano Beach when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Monarch made off with an 8-0 win. Does Monarch have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pompano Beach turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
