Baseball Recap: Compass Academy Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Compass Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 win over the Stanton Buffaloes. Ten seems to be a good number for Compass Academy as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The team relied heavily on JACKSON CLARK, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was KASON TRAVIS, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

CLARK wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Compass Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Compass Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Stanton dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Compass Academy will challenge Coahoma at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Compass Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season. As for Stanton, they will take on Crane at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Stanton is facing Crane at the right time seeing as Crane is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
