Baseball Recap: Solon Comes Up Short

Solon was the 6-3 winner over Clear Creek-Amana when they last played one another on Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans came up short against the Clippers on Thursday, falling 19-9. Spartans fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Clippers since on Thursday.

Solon's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-12. As for Clear Creek-Amana, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-12 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Solon will venture away from home to square off against North Scott at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Clear Creek-Amana, they will head out to face off against Bondurant-Farrar at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
