Softball Recap: Sierra Pacific Comes Up Short

After flying high against Washington Union on Tuesday, Sierra Pacific came back down to earth. The Golden Bears fell just short of the Immanuel Eagles by a score of 7-6 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Golden Bears in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Misha Soares was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Jaynee Campos, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run.

Sierra Pacific's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-7. As for Immanuel, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5-2.

Sierra Pacific wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-3 win against Chavez on the 12th. As for Immanuel, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Central Valley Christian at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd. The Cavaliers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.7 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
