Soccer Game Preview: Archbishop Mitty vs. Saint Francis

The Archbishop Mitty Monarchs will venture away from home to square off against the Saint Francis Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Archbishop Mitty sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Bellarmine College Prep.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Saint Francis made sure to put some goals up on the board against Junipero Serra on Saturday. They came out on top against the Padres by a score of 4-2. The game was the first time Saint Francis have beaten Junipero Serra on their pitch since January 11, 2023.

The victory made it two in a row for Saint Francis and bumps their season record up to 7-0-1. As for Archbishop Mitty, their win bumped their record up to 2-3-2.

Archbishop Mitty skirted past Saint Francis 1-0 in their previous matchup back in February of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Monarchs since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
