Basketball Recap: Silver Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Silver lost against Deming last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Silver Fighting Colts received a blow as they fell 37-23 to the Deming Wildcats.

When it comes to explaining why Silver lost, don't look at Kianna Murillo. Despite the final result, she went 5-for-8 to rack up 10 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Nyssa Torres, who posted three points and six rebounds.

Silver's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-11. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for Deming, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Silver didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-39 loss against Albuquerque Academy on the 7th. As for Deming, they have also already played their next matchup, a 45-36 victory against Espanola Valley on the 7th.
