Baseball Recap: Nelsonville-York Takes a Loss

Nelsonville-York was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 10-4 to the Athens Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.

Logan Meeks made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last ten times he's played.

Nelsonville-York's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Athens, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-4.

Coming up, Nelsonville-York will take on Wellston at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Golden Rockets' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Buckeyes' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Athens, they have already played their next match, a 4-1 victory against Eastern on the 15th.
