Baseball Recap: King's Fork Takes a Loss

If King's Fork was riding high fresh off their 10-2 takedown of Norview on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs came up short against the Lakeland Cavaliers on Thursday, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 back in March.

King's Fork's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-11. As for Lakeland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. King's Fork is set to square off against their familiar foe Indian River at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lakeland will challenge rival Grassfield at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cavaliers 4.1, the Grizzlies 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
