Cambridge Christian extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 5 this week by beating Northside Christian, 52-21. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Indian Rocks Christian moved up to 286 from 318 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Golden Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of beating Bradenton Christian 61-0.
Willie Parker was a force in the backfield as Carrollwood Day topped Canterbury.
Garrett Young put up the best numbers through the air as Cambridge Christian beat the Mustangs. He finished with a total of 12 completions for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns. Young's favorite target this week was Nick Stein, who caught 2 passes for 41 yards.
6-foot-1 quarterback Young of Bob Dare's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,146. He has also thrown 14 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Michael Smith. The Carrollwood Day star has 23 catches for 576 yards.
