Basketball Game Preview: Burgard Bulldogs vs. Olmsted Owls

Burgard hasn't had much luck against Olmsted recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Burgard Bulldogs will face off against the Olmsted Owls at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Burgard is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Western New York Maritime Charter on Tuesday. Burgard managed a 63-58 win over Western New York Maritime Charter.

Burgard's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Muhamed Muhamed, who went 10 for 18 on his way to 26 points and three steals. Muhamed has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kentae Land, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Meanwhile, Olmsted didn't have quite enough to beat Holland on Monday and fell 57-55. The Owls have struggled against the Dutchmen recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Olmsted's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Burgard, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Burgard came up short against Olmsted in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 55-46. Can Burgard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
