Allen Eagle Stadium to open Aug. 24

The new Eagle Stadium will seat 18,000 fans. The home side will have 9,000 seats, including 1,000 set aside for the Escadrille (band and color guard), 4,000 in the end zone for students and 5,000 seats for the visiting section.

The projected stadium cost is $59.6 million. The community approved a bond election proposal in May, 2009 for that amount.

A 5,800-square-foot wrestling area and locker room has been added on the home side. A larger weight room (268 feet by 42 feet) has been added under the visitors' side.

The Daktronics scoreboard is 75 feet wide and 45 feet tall with a 38-by-23-foot HD screen.

Each floor of the press box is approximately 140-by-42 feet. The main level is primarily a film deck with areas for scouts and athletics staff.

A total of 8,000 season tickets have been purchased for the 2012 football season.

There are 132 public restrooms for women and 60 for men.

The new Eagle Stadium sits on 72 acres. The general contractor for the stadium was Pogue Construction.

The stadium has 5,034 parking spaces. Fans can tailgate within guidelines approved at the stadium.

There is a practice area for men's and women's golf with nets below the home stands.
