Baseball Recap: Potomac School Panthers vs. St. James Saints

Potomac School is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of St. James. The Potomac School Panthers came out on top against the St. James Saints by a score of 6-3. Winning may never get old, but Potomac School sure is getting used to it with their 11th in a row.

Gavin Spiegel tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Wyatt Pence was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Peterson, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Potomac School pushed their record up to 13-3 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for St. James, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Potomac School will take on St. Stephen's & St. Agnes at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. James, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Maret at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Maret will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something St. James surely won't give up without a fight.
