Baseball Game Preview: Omaha Westside Warriors vs. Millard South Patriots

Omaha Westside is 2-8 against Millard South since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Warriors will square off against the Patriots at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Omaha Westside put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over Buena Vista. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.

Meanwhile, Millard South and Omaha North faced off in a cross-town battle on Monday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 12-2 win. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Jackson Corey tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Braden Swaney was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Brady Perich was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Millard South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Omaha North only posted an OBP of .250.

Omaha Westside's record now sits at 7-9. As for Millard South, their record is now 16-4.

Omaha Westside might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Millard South when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
