Basketball Game Preview: Sundown Roughnecks vs. Plains Cowboys

The Sundown Roughnecks will square off against the Plains Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with nine defeats in a row, Sundown turned things around against Smyer on Tuesday. They secured a 50-46 W over the Bobcats. The team accrued 37 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.

Among those leading the charge was Kye Powell, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 16 points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Briar Miller was another key player, putting up ten points.

Meanwhile, Plains entered their tilt with Smyer on Friday with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. They blew past the Bobcats 70-36. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 21 points or more this season.

Plains pushed their record up to 21-2 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.5 points. As for Sundown, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12.
