Baseball Recap: Heritage Christian Gets the Win

Heritage Christian's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2025.

Not much got past Keegan Reilly, who gave up just two hits and racked up six Ks to keep Indianapolis Scecina Memorial off the board. Reilly has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Alex Jackson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. He has become a key player for Heritage Christian: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5-1 otherwise. Connor Benson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Heritage Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season.

Heritage Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-3 victory against Covenant Christian on the 8th. Hopefully Indianapolis Scecina Memorial paid attention to the Eagles' contest: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
