Softball Recap: Hammond Central Wolves vs. Gary West Side Cougars
After losing to Gary West Side the last time they met, Hammond Central decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Wolves put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 17-7 victory on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Wolves sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Evalyse Pabey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over five innings while giving up six earned runs off six hits. Pabey was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.
