Volleyball Game Preview: Stratton Eagles vs. Prairie Mustangs

The Stratton Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Prairie Mustangs at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Stratton is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

Stratton proved they can win big on Friday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Burlington 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since September 27th.

Stratton wouldn't go down easily and took Burlington into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-13, 25-16, 20-25, 15-13.

Meanwhile, Prairie suffered their biggest defeat since September 26th on Tuesday. They came up short against Sterling, falling 3-0.

Prairie was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-21.

Stratton's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Prairie, their loss ended a four-match streak of away wins and brought them to 15-4.

Stratton took their victory against Prairie in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
