Volleyball Recap: Alamosa Mean Moose vs. Resurrection Christian Cougars

Alamosa and Resurrection Christian squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Alamosa had to settle for second. They came up short against the Resurrection Christian Cougars, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mean Moose of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2022.

Alamosa took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-20, 25-21.

Morgan Ortega paced Alamosa's offense, picking up seven kills. Ortega really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 19. Taybor Wiedeman controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Resurrection Christian found their leader in sophomore Jada Nordhagen, who had 11 digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Nordhagen.
