Volleyball Game Preview: Taft Eagles vs. Addison Trail Blazers

The Taft Eagles will challenge the Addison Trail Blazers on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Taft is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Lane Tech just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 2-0 to the Champions.

Meanwhile, Addison Trail was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Proviso East. While the Blazers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pirates 25-16 in the first set.

Addison Trail started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-16, 25-18.

Addison Trail's loss dropped their record down to 11-18. As for Taft, their defeat dropped their record down to 25-8.

Taft was able to grind out a solid win over Addison Trail when the teams last played back in April, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
