Basketball Recap: Sean Sallette's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dooly County over Montgomery County

Dooly County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Montgomery County Eagles. The Bobcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 53-50.

Dooly County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sean Sallette, who posted 18 points and three steals. The game was Sallette's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. Jamonte Taylor was another key player, putting up 20 points.

Even though they lost, Dooly County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. This was only their 16th loss (out of 17 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.

Dooly County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-21. As for Montgomery County, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-20.

Dooly County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Montgomery County, they will challenge Treutlen at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Montgomery County has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 187 points over their last three matchups.
