Softball Recap: Windthorst Has No Trouble Against City View

Windthorst's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on the City View Mustangs with a sharp 13-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trojans considering their one-run performance the game before.

Delaney Ashley was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Ashley was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Windthorst got a massive performance out of Charlee Wolf, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Wolf a new career-high. Sophie Reese was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

The win got Windthorst back to even at 1-1. As for City View, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Windthorst will have a chance to go back-to-back against City View: the pair will be back at it again later today.
