Volleyball Recap: Juneau-Douglas Falls Short Against Ranked West Valley

Juneau-Douglas faced West Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Crimson Bears fell 2-0 to the Wolf Pack. The Crimson Bears' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it six in a row.

Braith Dihle paced Juneau-Douglas' offense, picking up four kills. Dihle got some help from Liliane Veikoso and her nine assists. Veikoso was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Juneau-Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 13-8-4. As for West Valley, with the win, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 11-15-3.

Juneau-Douglas wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Nome-Beltz on the 27th. Hopefully West Valley paid attention to the Crimson Bears' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Crimson Bears at 7:33 p.m. on Saturday.
