Volleyball Recap: Merrill Gets the Win

Merrill won the last time they faced Wausau East and things went their way on Saturday too. The Bluejays walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Lumberjacks.

Merrill didn't let Wausau East take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-22.

Among those leading the charge was Olivia Collinsworth, who had seven aces and two assists. Those seven aces gave her a new career-high.

The win got Merrill back to even at 10-10. As for Wausau East, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Coming up, Merrill is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Northland Pines at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wausau East, they will challenge Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
