Football Game Preview: Inola Longhorns vs. Cleveland Tigers

The Inola Longhorns are taking a road trip to square off against the Cleveland Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Inola is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

On Friday, Inola got the win against Jay by a conclusive 30-7. Considering the Longhorns have won six games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Inola got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Micah Schwing out in front who picked up 82 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Brennan Lawley handled things on the ground, rushing for 96 yards.

Inola's run defense was locked in: Jay could only muster 1.9 yards per carry. The Longhorns' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 3.9.

Inola didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brock Landsaw and Alejandro Pando.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 32 points the game before, Cleveland was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell 14-6 to Vinita.

Inola's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Cleveland, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-7.

Everything came up roses for Inola against Cleveland in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 34-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
