Softball Recap: Rouse Comes Up Short

Rouse dropped to 9-15 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 10-0 to the Hays Rebels. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Rebels earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

As for Hays, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games.

For Hays' part, the team relied heavily on Teuila Eteaki, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Eteaki has posted since back in April of 2025. Ashlyn Galvan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Coming up, Rouse will welcome Cedar Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Timberwolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed seven runs per game on average), something the Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hays, they will head out to face off against Lockhart at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
