Basketball Recap: Millers Creek Christian Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Millers Creek Christian had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 33-24 victory over the Sheets Memorial Christian Eagles on Tuesday. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 31-11 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2015.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Millers Creek Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kate Bivins, who posted four points and five steals. Bivins is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Annalise Parsons, who had three points and four steals.

Despite the defeat, Sheets Memorial Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Lauren Hanner put up six points and ten boards.

Millers Creek Christian's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Sheets Memorial Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Millers Creek Christian has already played their next contest, a 33-22 loss against Asheboro Hybrid Academy on the 14th. As for Sheets Memorial Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-19 defeat against Forsyth Home Educators on the 9th.
