The De La Salle Meteors are taking a road trip to challenge the Hinsdale South Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. De La Salle is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

On Monday, De La Salle didn't have quite enough to beat Aurora Central Catholic and fell 4-3. The Meteors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Julie Guerrero was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.

Meanwhile, Hinsdale South can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Leyden by a score of 7-4.

Aliyah Hamilton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kayla Buckels-Meen was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Ava Scheirer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

De La Salle's loss dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Hinsdale South, their win bumped their record up to 4-17-1.

De La Salle came out on top in a nail-biter against Hinsdale South in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Meteors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
