Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ivey Martinez and Jayme Rojas Lead Jefferson to Victory

Jefferson's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Austin Panthers with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Silver Foxes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Jefferson took every set by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-9, 25-15.

Jefferson was led to victory by Jayme Rojas and Ivey Martinez. Rojas had 37 assists and nine digs, while Martinez had 15 digs and three aces. What's more, Martinez posted two kills, the most she's had since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Samantha Sheehan, who had five kills and four digs.

The win got Jefferson back to even at 8-8. As for Austin, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-16.

Looking ahead, Jefferson will venture away from home to square off against Bowie at 6:40 p.m. on Friday. As for Austin, they will host Canutillo at 6:40 p.m. on Friday.
