Recap: J.F. Webb Warriors vs. Carrboro Jaguars
The J.F. Webb Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their ninth straight loss. They fell 74-66 to Carrboro. Even though they lost, J.F. Webb's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.4 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the loss, J.F. Webb saw an underclassman step up: Daniel Wright dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wright has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Micah Allen, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Carrboro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Myles Gary led the charge by scoring 18 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Kanjorski, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
J.F. Webb's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Carrboro, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. J.F. Webb will take on Granville Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Granville Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than J.F. Webb in North Carolina (Granville Central is ranked 202nd, while J.F. Webb is ranked 588th). As for Carrboro, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Louisburg at 8:00 p.m. Louisburg is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 51.1 points per game.
