Softball Recap: Bluffton Tigers vs. South Adams Starfires

Bluffton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 14-2 walloping at the hands of the South Adams Starfires. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Bluffton of the 10-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

Bluffton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Smith, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

On South Adams' side, Bekah Patterson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Sofia Schwartz was another key contributor, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with a home run and three RBI.

Bluffton now has a losing record at 3-4. As for South Adams, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Bluffton will head out on the road to take on Oak Hill at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bluffton is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season. As for South Adams, they will be playing at home against Central Noble at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
